Our teams

Men's cricket

We have four men’s teams playing league cricket every Saturday throughout the summer. 2021 was an excellent season for the club which brought promotion for the 3rd XI as well as solid finishes for our other sides.

In 2022 our 1st XI will play in the West of England Premier League (Bristol & North Somerset division) and the 2nd XI in Division 3 of the Bristol and District League.

The 3rd XI and 4th XI will be in B&D Divisions 9 and 13 respectively.

Ladies cricket

In 2022 OBWCC Ladies will again play a mixture of 20 and 35 over matches in the Gloucestershire South League.

Youth cricket

The flow of promising young cricketers at OBWs continues, promising a bright future for many more seasons to come! Our youth setup includes All Stars Cricket (ages 5-8) , Dynamos Cricket (new for 2022) as well as all age groups up to U17 thanks to the support of our superb volunteer coaches and a number of parent helpers.

During May and June in particular, there are games on at Failand almost every evening, as we compete in league and cup competitions across each age group.

We also strive to give our talented youth opportunities to play in our senior teams. Those eligible from the U13 and above age groups will consistently be considered for selection and made to feel welcome when they do make the step up. Our 4th XI Captain is one of our U13 and U15 coaches, meaning young players skill set is fully understood and that their transition to senior cricket is appropriately managed and they are given the chance to contribute with bat and ball just as they would at youth level.
