Old Bristolians Westbury CC

Probably the best cricket club in Bristol

2022: The Season Starts Here

British Summer Time has officially started, the days are getting longer and the County Championship has kicked off with yet another Alistair Cook ton. All this can mean only thing – the club cricket season is finally here!

Annual subs

Annual subs are due from all players. More details can be found here but please note that all subscriptions are due by the time of selection for the first league games of the season. Anyone who would like to pay their annual subs in instalments, please speak to a captain who will liaise with the Club Treasurer on this for you.

Ground work party

The annual ground work party will take place on Sunday 24 April at 10am. Please do make yourself available to attend this and help get the club set up for the summer. Many hands make light work and it will, at most, take up a couple of hours of your Sunday morning.

Preseason fixtures

Our preseason fixture list is as follows:

16 April – 2 teams vs Taunton CC (both Away)

23 April – 1st XI vs Gloucester CC (Away) – other fixture(s) TBC

30 April – 3 teams vs Frenchay (1st XI and 3rd XI Away, 2nd XI Home)

Please provide your availability via Spond for these fixtures. We have also added all this season’s Saturday league fixtures and a number of T20 games onto Spond as well to enable you to provide your availability at any time. We would ask all members to please use this and save your captains from having to chase you regularly.

This link should take you to Spond if you wanted to go ahead and sort that all out right now.

Here’s to a successful season full of good weather for everyone involved at the club. And remember to #BringYourFire every week. And your fines money.

🔥🏏🔥 Hard luck to the boys at @BristolCricketC today representing @WEPLCricket in the T20 national cup finals in Bridgwater - we would have loved to have come up to watch… shame it wasn’t at their home ground as they were representing @WEPLCricket in the final! #GoodOnYaLads
