Simon Hinks appointed as Club Coach

5th March 2017 By Craig Strachan

Although many of you will already have seen and spoken to him at winter nets, the club are pleased to confirm that former Gloucestershire and Kent batsman Simon Hinks has been appointed as Club Coach for 2017 – as was reported in the Bristol Post on Tuesday.

Simon has already been helping to make improvements to training sessions and said “Having had my professional career defined and developed by club cricket, it was great to be invited to help the club. To work across all sections – junior, youth, ladies and adult men’s teams – will allow me to add value to the team of club coaches who work tirelessly at all levels.

Club Chairman Craig Strachan added “We are delighted to welcome Hinksy to the club. We’ve been looking at ways to improve what we offer to all our members and, thanks to various fund-raising initiatives over the past year or so and our primary sponsor Invest SouthWest, we’ve been able to bring Simon on board.

“We’ve got a great set of volunteers already at the club, but with Simon’s involvement as well I’m hoping we can kick on and have a great season.”
