Saturday 10 April sees the return of cricket for OBWCC, and after a winter without indoor nets it is safe to say that people seem to be ready and raring to get going with the new season.
The weather looks as though it will play ball and stay dry, albeit it definitely looks like being 3-jumper weather with temperatures set to be in single figures.
Whilst we do still have to continue to apply all the appropriate social distancing measures and COVID-compliant rules that were introduced for the cricket we were eventually able to play last summer, there are many reasons for optimism as this new season dawns and the first team selections of this summer have now been completed and announced – a whole three months earlier than last year!
Our 1st XI travel to Taunton for their first pre-season friendly, whilst there will be an inter-club match played at Failand for everyone else.
May your runs, wickets and victories be plentiful this season – here’s to it being a great one all round!
