Sunday co-Captains Confirmed

The Committee are pleased to confirm that Matt Tavare and Lisle Durrans have been appointed as co-Captains of the Sunday team for 2017.

Tav led the team throughout the majority of the 2016 season, finishing the year as the team’s second-leading run scorer and earning plaudits for the way in which he brought youth players through the ranks and playing important roles for the team. He was also the architect of the team’s only win back in the 2015 season with his memorable 93* against Pak Bristolians which guided the team to a 2 wicket win.

Lisle led the side at times in StuMac’s absence during that 2015 season, in which he scored 564 runs at an average of over 70 – so needless to say the fact that only one win was achieved probably wasn’t his fault! His most memorable innings came in a tied game at home to Brislington where he carried his bat for 123*.

We wish them both the best of luck in the Three Counties Sunday League this year.

Can you house the overseas?

As the 2017 season draws ever closer, the club are looking for a place to house our overseas player during the season. Last season both Will (& Jenny) Penny and Clubman of the Year 2016 Jonnie Sheeran did their bit and allowed a scarecrow (George Woolley) to live with them for 8-9 weeks each and we would really appreciate it if one or two of you would be willing to step up the plate in 2017.

As part of the deal you won’t pay annual subs for the year and you also won’t pay match fees for the entire time the overseas is living with you.

If you’d be willing/able to help us out, please let a member of the committee know – you can find all our contact details right here.
