OBWCC Ladies XI 2007

The OBWCC Women's team has been established for almost 5 years, and is part of the GWCA (Gloucestershire Women's Cricket Association) league, encompassing teams in Bristol and northward towards Cheltenham. This season we are also competing in the GWCA knockout cup tournament, and also in an end of season 8-aside tournament.

Matches last 35 overs per team and take place on sunday afternoons. During the summer training takes place at the ground on thursday evenings 6.30pm til 8pm. Training is a mix of practicing skills, through fielding, batting and bowling drills, practice matches and net sessions.

The team is open to girls and women of all abilities and experience. Players range from representing the county side to those with little or no prior experience. Whilst we aim to be competitive, there is a strong focus on having fun and getting more girls and women involved in cricket.

We are also one of the only clubs to offer completely seperate male and female changing rooms, which makes life easier when the men's and women's teams are both in action.
